Orange Lofts

Est.2003

The Orange is a 106-unit loft building located in Calgary’s East Village. Designed by Kasian Kennedy of Vancouver, Orange has the appeal of a revitalized warehouse loft that is typical of vibrant cosmopolitan centres. The Lofts offer a fresh twist on urban residential living.

The Orange lofts are characterized by open living space, 16 feet high – exposed concrete ceilings, polished concrete floors, exposed mechanical piping, steel kitchen shelves and railings. Once again, Battistella has developed a residential project like no other in Calgary.

Chartreuce

Est.2001

Designed by Peter Jungen of Habitat Design, and enhanced by Graham Edmunds Architecture, the Chartreuce is a 12 unit loft-style live/work townhome complex. Characterized by it’s unique industrial finishes (steel fireplace, steel shelves, exposed beams and beam stairs), Chartreuce is reflective of it’s trendy industrial/residential neighbourhood of Inglewood.

The two-storey homes range in size from 955 to 1300 square feet and either consist of one bedroom and a den or one and a half bathrooms. All main floors have 10-foot ceilings, with an 18-foot living room space over looked from the loft. Most of the units also have full basements.

The Ellington

Est.2000

The Ellington is a 23 unit apartment style project located in the up and coming community of Renfrew/Bridgeland. It is designed by Graham Edmunds Architects. These homes range in size from 1050 to 1135 square feet and consist of either two bedrooms or one bedroom and a den, with each unit having two full bathrooms.

The Ellington’s quiet central location and contemporary yet sophisticated finishes render it a true urban haven. The top floor units have a remarkable clerestory ceiling that curves to a height of 17 feet and transforms the space from a typical apartment condo to a chic urban home.

Sole Vista

Est.1998

Sole Vista is a thirty unit stacked townhouse development that sits on the hill overlooking Bridgeland and the downtown skyline. As the name suggests, the sun and the views are very striking in many of the units. Designed by Sturgess Architecture, the development’s terracing and terra cotta colouring are reminiscent of an Italian hillside town.

Homes range in size from single-storey 950 to 1130 square feet two bedroom townhomes to 1400 square feet two-storey townhomes with two bedrooms or two bedrooms plus den.

Summerfields

Est.1996

Summerfields is a fifty-one unit stacked townhouse development that was built on an old Safeway site in the community of Mount Pleasant, and the architect was Peter Garry. The project had a variety of different unit types ranging from single-storey 800 square foot one-bedroom townhomes to two-storey 1300 square foot townhomes with double attached garages.

The project was completed in 1996 and is still used by the City of Calgary Planning Department as an example of sensitive urban redevelopment with higher densities.
