Lots has been happening on the LIDO site in the last month! The most noticeable milestone is that almost all of the windows are in. Also, unseen by the passing traffic, we are in the process of finalizing the install of all the steal stud frames and rough-ins, part way into installing drywall, and the cabinetry is beginning to be hung on the 2nd floor.

  • Exterior: The windows are 95% complete throughout the building and the shipping containers that create the tunnel along 10th street are going to be removed in a couple weeks revealing LIDO’s exterior.
  • Parkade:  Storage lockers are going in. Up next is adding lighting, painting the walls, and painting on the flooring membrane that protects the concrete from salt and gravel abrasion.
  • Main Floor: The framing material has been loaded into the main floor and we are getting close to building the walls which separate the commercial bays. Stay tuned for some exciting news about tenants.
  • 2nd Floor: Drywall, trim, and primer paint is complete. Cabinets are being put into place in many of the units and tile work has begun in the washrooms.
  • 3rd Floor: The drywall has all been hung. We are now prepping for paint and finishes.
  • 4th Floor: Framing and rough-ins (plumbing, electrical, and mechanical) are completed and the drywall has been brought up to the floor with plans to begin hanging it this week.
  • 5th Floor: Framing and rough-ins are complete. The next step is to have a city inspection before we start with drywall.
  • 6th Floor: All the framing is done rough-ins are underway and expected to be finished next week.
  • 7th Floor: Steal tracks on the floor have been laid down which is the start of framing. All the framing should be done by the end of week and rough-ins will start immediately after that.
  • 8th Floor: Windows are installed and are being finished with metal casings (known as a beauty caps) that cover the connection points between the ceiling and window frames. The next step is to chalk outline where the walls will be and this will start early next week.
  • Rooftop: The tile pavers are installed. The feature fireplace base has been crafted out of concrete and the gas insert will be installed next month. Also completed, and in use, are the window washing anchors. These are an important feature for all exterior maintenance and line the entire rooftop.
