March was another very busy month at the LIDO site! Last week we hit a huge milestone: we removed the sea can walkway along 10 Street! With the sea cans gone, we can finally scope out the exterior of the building and spy on the main floor commercial space as it develops. Inside, almost all of the drywall has been installed and the kitchens are going in.

  • Exterior: The sea can tunnel along 10th street has been removed, revealing the building’s exterior. Next step: sidewalks, which started this week.
  • Parkade: Storage lockers are ready to go and, once the racks are installed, bike storage will also be complete.
  • Main Floor: Piping and mechanical systems are being finalized in the commercial bays. All materials have been ordered for the residential lobby.
  • 2nd Floor: Cabinets and countertops are installed. Electricians are busy hanging lighting. Next step: plank flooring.
  • 3rd Floor: Cabinets are in and countertops are being installed.
  • 4th Floor: Appliances are going in and countertops will follow. Final paving stones are being laid on the terraces.
  • 5th Floor: Walls are painted and doors are hung. Next step: cabinets.
  • 6th Floor: Drywall is being prepped for paint. Cabinets, counters, and tile will follow.
  • 7th Floor: Drywall has been hung and will be prepped for paint shortly.
  • 8th Floor: Framing and rough-ins are complete. Drywall is being brought up to the top floor via the outdoor elevator and it will be installed next week.
  • Rooftop: Gas fireplace has been ordered. Window anchors are being put to good use as the construction team completes the exterior finishes.
